Welcome to Desert-Blooms! I strive to make the perfect specialty item for your child. Each pair of shorts, capris, & pants is hand knit by me on straight needles & then seamed. This provides a nice straight leg fit & allows the body & legs to have similar colorway patterns.
I use only high quality wool on my products. My favorite yarns to work with are Blue-Faced Leister (bfl), Blackberry Ridge merino, Galenas Merino, Targhee, & Treliske Organic Merino. I love buying yarns from well known dyers as well as dyeing my own.
*Wool Care
All knit items come to you fully washed & lanolized. Wool must be rewashed if soiled or approximately once a month, depending on frequency of use. To wash, fill up your sink with warm water. Add a drop of liquid lanolin & stir, making sure there are no clumps. Add your favorite wool wash or 1/4 teaspoon of baby soap. Put your wooly item in, squeeze gently a few times, & let it soak for 5-10 minutes. Place item flat on a towel & roll up both the towel & wool to squeeze out the excess moisture. Lay flat to dry.
*Policies
Please measure your child carefully before purchasing to ensure a perfect fit. I will give assistance via email if help is needed. I am not responsible for any items knit to custom measurements given or instock purchases that do not fit correctly. No refunds will be issued unless there is a true defect, in which the item must be returned unwashed within 2 weeks from purchase. Differences in yarn patterns are not considered defects.
When checking out with instock and cart items, payment must be made within one hour, unless arrangements have been made prior to purchasing. Instock items will be restocked after the hour is up if payment has not been received.
Custom orders will be completed within three weeks once the yarn has arrived & I have casted on the needles. The yarn, or yarn deposit, is non-refundable. Customers will be updated via email, & by viewing my custom order page, during the knitting process.
*Shipping
All instock purchases are shipped within 48 hours Monday-Friday. Each order includes delivery confirmation in the purchase price.
